Activities at the Ranch
SPORTING CLAY SHOOTING
Grey Cliffs Ranch guests can enjoy the challenge of the on-site five-stand sporting clay course to get warmed up for the upland bird hunts or just to get some practice time in. Set up in a canyon on the ranch, shotguns are provided along with lessons and safety techniques.
HIKING, MOUNTAIN BIKING & BIRD WATCHING
With more than 5,000 acres of private property, guests can hike or bike through open country and on old ranch roads up to spectacular views of surrounding mountains. And make sure to keep your eyes out, or bring the binoculars, to check out the abundant wildlife including many different raptor species. Our staff can also line guests out on other popular off-site trails in the area.
FLY FISHING TROUT PONDS
An acre pond just off the lodge lawn holds huge rainbow trout. Our second three acre pond is a short drive to the other side of the ranch. It is also known for having quality rainbow trout. We have some fly rods available for guests to use for catch and release fishing.
Guests can use our oversized tubes for a mellow cruise down the nearby Madison River. Take in the surroundings and sink into the cool water on a hot day.
Grey Cliffs Ranch can book on-site massages for guests, or recommend good places to go to enjoy a spa day to round out the ultimate vacation.
Grey Cliffs Lodge guests can get creative on vacation with pottery lessons in the on-site studio hosted by Licia Lucas-Pfadt. With a Bachelor of Fine Arts with a major in ceramic arts, Licia has 19 years of experience making and teaching pottery. Guests can use colorful under-glazes to decorate porcelain cups, mugs, bowls, trivets, and tile wall decorations, all handmade by Licia at Grey Cliffs Ranch. Licia will then clear glaze and fire the pieces, and ship them back home to guests. Check out Licia’s online shop at www.liciapfadt.etsy.com
